Photo Scavenger Hunt

We put on this activity for one of our combined mutual activities. It was a huge hit and was one of our largest turn outs... Luckily I prepared for the masses. I came up with THREE separate lists of "items" for the youth to find. Each clue was a scripture reference and they had to find either a location, person, or specific painting. (Please feel free to change the scripture clues if your church building does not have the same exact paintings.) Before they took off on the hunt, everyone started in the gym where they were given their first scripture clue and we went over some ground rules as listed below.

Rules:
1. At least one youth leader must be present with your group.
2. Take a picture at each "item" with the scripture that is hidden with it.
3. You must use physical scriptures.
4. No running. Stay with your group.
5. There are no clues in the Chapel.

The groups were informed that if they needed a hint, they could report back to the gym to ask me for one. I kept a cheat sheet with me that had each scripture clue, the item that it would lead them to, and a simple hint to remind myself.

To prevent each group from accidentally picking up a clue from a different list, I assigned each list a color (i.e. green, pink, blue). Each group completed their search in enough time for them to complete a different one.

I will give a break down of each list and some suggested alternatives. Please comment if you have any questions. This activity is 100% original and can be a little confusing when setting up.

TEAM GREEN

Clue #1 - Doctrine and Covenants 72:2
Answer: Your Bishop. (Give the next clue to your Bishop if he has no appointments for that night. Please notify him in advance no matter what you use for this clue.)
                Alternative: His office door.

Clue #2 - Exodus 14
Answer: Someone dressed up as Moses. (It helps if he has a name tag. Have him roam around the building. Do not have him change into costume until after the teams start.)

Clue #3 - Doctrine and Covenants 4:3
Answer: The missionaries. (You can ask your local missionaries to participate in this activity if you feel it is appropriate to their calling.)
Alternative: Where your ward hangs missionary plaques.

Clue #4 - Joseph Smith History 1:16-17
Answer: Any painting that depicts the First Vision. This is the one in our building:

Clue #5 - Job 17:9
Answer: The Bathrooms. ( Place OUTSIDE on the door or next to the sign.)

TEAM BLUE

Clue #1 - Mosiah 18:17
Answer: Baptismal Font (To respect the sacredness of the font, I recommend posting your clue on the outside if kept behind a door.)
Alternative: Painting of Christ being baptized

Clue #2 - 3 Nephi 11:12-14
Answer: Painting of Christ appearing to the people in the Book of Mormon.

Clue #3 - Doctrine and Covenants 20:59
Answer: The words "Come unto Christ." (Our building has a bulletin board with those words on it in large font. You could always write it on the chalkboard in the Relief Society room.)
Alternative: A Christus Statue if your ward has one for table displays or any painting of Christ where his hands are held out.

Clue #4 - Ether 6:4
                Answer: The Kitchen Fridge

Clue #5 - Daniel 1:17
Answer: The Library (Place on door or next to sign if the library is locked.)

TEAM PINK

Clue #1 - Luke 15:25
Answer: Have a member somewhere in the building playing an instrument such as the piano or guitar. (I suggest that they stay in one spot and keep the door open since you have to listen for this clue.)
Alternative: The piano in the young women's room.

Clue #2 - Luke 6:13
Answer: Picture of the 12 apostles and/or first presidency.
Alternative: Painting that has the original twelve such as the one below.

Clue #3 - Mormon 9:11
Answer: The words "Look for the Miracles". (Our Relief Society room has this phrase painted on the chalk board. You could write it somewhere in the building.)

Clue #4 - Isaiah 54:13
Answer: The Primary room. (Place on the door or right inside the door if the room is occupied.)

Clue #5 - Alma 13:15
Answer: Where your ward displays the tithing slips.

ALTERNATIVE CLUES:

Clue - Alma 31:21
Answer: The pulpit in the Primary room. (I suggest not using the pulpit in the chapel out of respect.)

Clue - Mosiah 18:9
Answer: Poster of the Young Women's theme.

Pictionary Online

Week #10 of Quarantine  The girls wanted to play generic pictionary. I would privately chat the word to the drawer, they would give me a thumbs up or down if they knew what it was, and then they would begin. We set a timer for 3 minutes for each word, but everyone seemed to guess correctly fairly quick. When we completed a round, which was when everyone had taken a turn, we would set the words to a harder level. Depending on the video chat program you use, there will be a whiteboard that you can share screen with the girls and they can draw on it. If you do not have that or can not make it work, we used regular paper and markers and it worked well for us.  This is the word generator we used: https://randomwordgenerator.com/pictionary.php
